Telling CDI’s Story: 2023 CDI Week State of the Industry
Did you know that currently more than 41% of CDI professionals say they have a career ladder in place in their department, and more than 22% say their department offers financial incentives to staff for earning CDI-specific credentials? Did you know that 81.27% of CDI professionals put sepsis in their list of top denied diagnoses?
The data found within this year’s CDI Week Industry Survey can offer CDI professionals insight not only into their own professional careers but also into the direction of their CDI programs compared to their peers, and trends within the broader CDI industry.
Each year, the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) surveys CDI professionals nationwide to take the pulse of the CDI industry. This year, more than 700 respondents answered questions regarding provider engagement, professional development and staffing, outpatient CDI and risk adjustment, denial trends and CDI involvement, and workflow tools and technology.
Now, ACDIS will unpack the meaning of the survey results and provide additional perspectives via a panel of experts. Join ACDIS Editor Jess Fluegel and members of the 2023 Furthering Education Committee for a free webinar on Thursday, September 21, 1-2:30 p.m. eastern, featuring an in-depth discussion on the state of the CDI industry and an open question and answer session.
Learning objectives:
- Explain the state of the CDI industry related to provider engagement, professional development and staffing, outpatient CDI and risk adjustment, denial trends and CDI involvement, and workflow tools and technology
- Identify areas of potential CDI expansion in the near future based on the survey results
- Apply survey findings and data to their own CDI programs and work
