Note from the Associate Editorial Director: Join us on the ACDIS stage

We started small, with just a handful of members. Their excitement, infectious. Soon ACDIS Director Brian Murphy organized a conference, nearly 200 people attended. There were just 13 speakers at that event.
Not a day goes by that we don’t marvel at the growth of the clinical documentation improvement profession. With the 10th annual ACDIS conference in the books and ACDIS’ 10th birthday coming up in October, we can’t help but see the association’s trajectory as an extension of that growth.
Last year’s conference had nearly 100 applications for some 40-plus speaking slots. While not every applicant can be selected to speak at the 11th annual conference, every application provides our Conference Committee with greater insight into the progression of the industry, helps with the selection process, and contributes to the quality of the event overall.
The 2018 Conference Committee feels strongly that the industry’s growth necessitates a shift in tracks offered at the conference as well. So, we’re happy to announce two new tracks—pediatric and outpatient. We’re also bringing back our core educational offerings with tracks for clinical and coding concerns, management and leadership, expansion and innovation, as well as regulatory and quality initiatives.
It is the experiences of CDI professionals in the field that we crave—your success stories, your overcoming adversity stories, your stories of advocating for CDI advancement to administrators, of onboarding new staff, of providing pathways for existing staff to further their careers, of engaging physicians in a way that immediately affects patience care, of how clinical documentation improvement efforts are changing the face of healthcare.
