Local chapter updates: New England CDI and coding symposium success

A couple weeks ago, ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Melissa Varnavas wrote about her plans to attend the New England CDI and Coding Symposium with ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald. Well, the event has come and gone and proved a roaring success.

The morning opened with breakfast and networking—catching up with old friends and new.  Massachusetts chapter co-leaders Lara Faustino offered some welcome remarks and the program was off and running.

The sessions ran a gamut of CDI topics, including:

• Physician engagement
• CDI and quality
• Outpatient CDI
• Best practices in CDI

Outside of the sessions themselves, the event offered great opportunities to network and meet new CDI friends. One pleasant surprise was meeting two of the CDI Week Committee members, Terry Ann Simmons and Rosita Waddell, in person.

The behind the scenes work to bring this event to fruition was clear. Simply providing five sessions and a space for more than 200 people would have been difficult enough, but to have the program prove such a hit was a true triumph. ACDIS would like to take a moment to thank the following individuals and groups for all their work and time:
