Membership update: ACDIS Forum stays active even during summer months
Summer can be a hectic time. This often leads to a lull in productivity and education. With more and more people going on vacation, it’s easy to lean back and relax for a couple months. The ACDIS Forums, however, show a different story for the CDI community. Even with vacations, etc., the CDI conversation has continued in full-force.
Because of this activity, the ACDIS team decided it was time for another installment of “Trending on the ACDIS Forum.” Without further ado, here’s a few hot topics drawing conversation right now:
- Ambulatory/OP CDI: Join in on the ever-popular conversation about getting an ambulatory or outpatient CDI program off the ground.
- Queries resulting in negative financial impact: Share your opinion on tracking cases where CDI queries decreased the reimbursement for that particular case.
- Best practice for “counting” queries: Weigh in on the subject of tracking verbal and written queries and how each affects overall CDI productivity metrics.
- Sepsis versus respiratory failure as principal diagnosis: Discuss the intricacies of assigning sepsis or respiratory failure as a principal diagnosis in a variety of complex situations.
- Coding Glasgow Coma Scale diagnosis: Add your opinion to the conversation about coding the Glasgow Coma Scale in patients who are in end of life care.
