Local chapter update: Look out for these state pride tables next week at the conference!

CDI Strategies - Volume 17, Issue 18

The second day at the ACDIS conference is always a party, thanks in large part to the enthusiasm and efforts of local chapters to celebrate their home states! With less than a week before many of us can sit around tables in person together, many chapters have let us know their plans for the state pride tables that can be decorated for the lunch break on Wednesday, May 10. Here’s our current list of participating states and a few notes on the fun things they have in store:

  • Arizona will have a decorated table.
  • Florida will have a decorated table.
  • Georgia will decorate a table with a Georgia sign and other Georgia relevant icons.
  • Indiana will decorate a table with state-specific sports and Indy 500 décor.
  • Kansas, while it does not have an active chapter currently, will have a decorated table.
  • Maine will have a decorated table.
  • Maryland will decorate a table highlighting the Chesapeake Bay, their national estuary. Chapter leaders will be wearing black t-shirts with a Maryland crab-shaped flag and will also run a few giveaways!
  • Michigan will decorate a table with cars and mittens décor. They encourage chapter members and friends to wear auto-themed attire!
  • Minnesota will have a decorated table. They encourage chapter members and friends to wear purple or their favorite MN sport team gear!
  • North Carolina will decorate a table with a Dogwood flower theme, both for the state flower and in honor of Melissa Varnavas. They encourage chapter members and friends to wear clothing inspired by this theme as well!
  • South Carolina will decorate a table in a beach and mountain theme.
  • Texas will have a decorated table.
  • Wisconsin will decorate a table with the Wisconsin "cheese head" theme and possibly the Badgers sport team. Chapter leaders will likely wear cheese head hats!

Don’t see your state? The ACDIS team encourages anyone interested in decorating a state pride table and gathering with their local peers to reach out to us at info@acdis.org! You can also simply wear your state-specific attire (we’ve seen sports jerseys, pins, hats, and more over the years!) and gather informally with others from your state for lunch.
