Note from the Director of Programming: Time is running out for ACDIS conference savings

Preparations are fully underway for the 2023 ACDIS national conference, to be held May 8-11 in Chicago, Illinois. For months, you’ve been reading about the calls for speakers and poster presenters. Maybe you spent some time filling in an ACDIS Achievement Award nomination form for that shining star on your team who deserves to be recognized for the work they do and the way they improve the profession.

What you can’t see is all the behind the scenes reviewing and reflecting that has happened since. The Events Committee reviewed literally hundreds of presentations to pick the ones they believe will best serve our conference attendees. The ACDIS team and the Events Committee also reviewed posters and recently let the creators know who has been chosen.

We also pored over every single nomination to decide who should be selected—out of all the amazing candidates—as the recipients of the ACDIS Achievement Awards. I can tell you that process is agonizing. It’s like having to choose a favorite child. But it will be all worth it when we stand up on stage and read out loud the reasons why the winners were chosen and see the gratitude in their faces as they hear what others have said about them and the sneaky tears from their nominators who look on in pride.

In the next few weeks, sessions will be edited and reviewed, speeches will be written, program guides will be proofed, and all the hundreds of tasks that are essential before such a large event will get accomplished. This is the fun part. The tingling anticipation part. Especially knowing that the end result is a conference that brings together hundreds of us in community to network, learn, and share.

Right now, you can find the cheapest prices on registration. The early bird discount gives $100 off registration for either the ACDIS national conference or the ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI (to be held May 7-8 before the main conference). The cut-off for that discount is March 6, a little more than a week away. ACDIS members can also take an additional $100 off that discount, and even more, if you have a group, you can get five registrations for the price of four—all currently with those early bird savings!
