News: Survey shows average nurse hourly pay for 2022 in all 50 states
Recently the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics conducted an occupational employment statistics survey, including results for both registered nurses (RN) and nurse practitioners (NP). In 2022, the average hourly pay for nurses in the United States is $39.78, and $56.75 on average for nurse practitioners. The highest average hourly wage for both jobs was in California, while the lowest for RNs was in South Dakota and the lowest for NPs was in Tennessee, Becker’s Hospital Review reported.
Here are the states with the top 10 hourly mean wages for RNs in descending order:
- California, $59.62
- Hawaii, $51.22
- Oregon, $47.42
- Alaska, $46.74
- Massachusetts, $46.46
- Washington, $45.84
- New York, $44.86
- New Jersey, $43.12
- Nevada, $42.69
- Connecticut, $42.56
Here are the states with the top 10 hourly mean wages for NPs in descending order:
- California, $72.99
- New Jersey, $65.87
- New York, $64.39
- Washington, $62.90
- Massachusetts, $62.28
- Oregon, $61.63
- Hawaii, $61.29
- Minnesota, $61.06
- Rhode Island, $60.94
- Nevada, $59.46
