Note from ACDIS: Open note to the CDI community—How can we help you?

Your friends at ACDIS are thinking of you. We know anecdotally that many CDI professionals have been sent home to work, which brings its own set of challenges. Social distancing can become social isolation.

We have heard that the patient census in many organizations has dropped, as hospitals scramble to clear space ahead of the anticipated wave of COVID-19 patients. As a result, there has been some early talk about CDI professionals not having enough work, and possible furloughs, or even layoffs.

In other instances, nurses and other clinically licensed CDI professionals are anticipating possibly being called back to the front lines of healthcare and putting themselves at risk as they work at the bedside.
