Local chapter update: More than 1,200 CDI professionals reached via local chapter events

From August through October there will have been nearly 30 local events offering CDI education and networking across the country. Now, some of these chapters host small, after-hour-type sessions gathering 15 or 20 people to talk about an issue. If these 30 events gathered a minimum of 20 attendees that’s 600 people touched by our local chapters. Some, however, have groups of 50, 75, 100, and even up to 200 attendees.

For example, the Michigan ACDIS chapter held its meeting last week and gathered 73 attendees, had seven speakers on topics such as the IPPS Final Rule, outpatient CDI, malnutrition, Type 2 MI, and physician queries. Today, October 10, the Massachusetts ACDIS Chapter will meet at Boston Children's Hospital and next week features a host of events as well.

Adding them all up one might extrapolate that more than 1,200 CDI professionals will have benefited from local chapter networking and education in these three months alone.

Bravo, to all the local chapter volunteers who make that type of professional outreach possible. Thank you to all the CDI managers and directors who make it a priority for their staff to attend these amazing events. Kudos to those who take their own personal time off and pay their own travel expenses to participate because they understand the value that interpersonal connection and information can have on their professional CDI practices.
