ACDIS update: Take a moment to answer the latest ACDIS poll about physician staffing
It seems that over recent months, hospitals are increasingly finding themselves short-staffed. Add in the overwhelming provider burnout epidemic and the atmosphere seems dire. According to the most recent ACDIS poll, 75% of respondents say their organization is currently understaffed for nurses. Now, ACDIS wants to know about the state of physician staffing.
While this may not seem like a CDI-centric problem at first glance, its effects will be far reaching. For example, if the medical staff are already overworked, will they be particularly excited for new CDI initiatives? Probably not.
Over the coming weeks, ACDIS will run a series of polling questions about the staffing in different departments—from nurses, to physicians, to coders, and beyond. The results will be shared with the ACDIS membership through CDI Strategies.
