CDI Strategies - Volume 13, Issue 32
The ACDIS team is here to help members, answer their questions, and provide the best possible resources for their daily work. ACDIS members, however, also help each other daily on the ACDIS Forum.
Often those questions posted in a moment of need or curiosity spur on larger discussions among the ACDIS community. Why not join in on one of those conversations? Here are a few of the topics trending right now on the Forum:
- Coding from consulting physicians’ documentation: Join the discussion about coding guidelines and advice governing consultant documentation.
- Using prior encounter documentation for querying: Chime in on the ins and outs of the use of prior information in concurrent queries (including a discussion of the newest ACDIS/AHIMA “Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice” brief).
- Querying for malnutrition specificity: Add your thoughts to compliant malnutrition query practices.
- Dealing with noncompliant physicians: Share your best practices for working with physicians and gaining their buy-in for CDI efforts.
- Determining the principal diagnosis: Join the conversation about choosing a principal diagnosis between cardiogenic shock and cardiac arrest.
- Coding hydrocephalus: Help unpack the coding of hydrocephalus in a patient with a VP shunt.
