Note from the Certification Coordinator: Do you know your recertification due date?

I received an email from a CCDS holder recently whose certification was about to expire. She said she had not received any email reminders from us. I confirmed her email address is the same one I have in the CCDS database.

So, why didn’t she get our messages? To be honest, I have no idea. Often in these situations, an organization has a firewall to enhance its network security, or our messages get snagged in a spam filter. Perhaps our message is assumed to be a marketing pitch and is deleted as junk mail. One good way around this particular issue is to use a personal email address rather than your work address.

The particular CCDS holder in question, however, told me that she had a note in her calendar that her recertification was coming due, so she wasn’t really counting on us to remind her. She was just curious about why she hadn’t heard from us.

If you recertify close to your actual due date, you may show on this list as overdue until the list is updated at the beginning of the following month. You may recertify up to 60 days in advance of your due date.

Stay on top of your certification due date. You worked too hard to lose it.
