Note from the ACDIS Editor: You’re invited to the CDI family reunion
By Linnea Archibald
The ACDIS conference serves as the centerpiece of our year—an opportunity to see friends both old and new, hear from industry-expert speakers, and come back home rejuvenated from the palpable excitement of the event with new ideas for articles, resources, and more.
In just 45 short days, 2,000-odd attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and staff will descend on the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida, for two and a half-jam-packed days of CDI education, networking, and downright fun. After months and months of planning and anticipation, it’s hard to believe the 12th annual ACDIS conference is nearly upon us.
If you’ve been putting off registering, now is the time to take action. The early bird deadline ends tomorrow, Friday, April 5. Individuals who register now will receive $100 off their conference admission. If you’re an ACDIS member, that’s in addition to your $100-member discount.
Of course, the early bird discount isn’t the only way you can save money on your conference ticket, but it’s the only one with a time limit. After tomorrow, that $100 discount will be off the preverbal table, so if you’ve been on the fence about attending, now is the time to take the leap.
Past attendees know how valuable the ACDIS conference experience is. The number and variety of sessions and topics offer something for everyone, regardless of their programmatic focus or experience level. The exhibit hall makes all the vendors and consultants accessible to CDI leaders. And, perhaps most importantly, the atmosphere is one of collaboration, excitement, and support.
Since ACDIS’ founding in 2007, members have found a CDI home here. Year after year, members tell us that ACDIS is their professional organization, their CDI family. The ACDIS conference brings that sense of community to the forefront. It’s hard to feel isolated—even if you’re working as a sole CDI specialist or are fully remote—when you’re surrounded by a group of people clad in purple and orange or gathered around the table with other CDI professionals from your state.
“It’s like the CDI family from across the nation coming together for a family reunion,” one attendee wrote after last year’s conference.
“We have such a unique job and it was so nice to be in the company of others who understand what I do for a living and to see their passion. It was truly inspiring,” wrote another.
Whether this year’s event will be your 12th conference or your first, you will come away with something invaluable to your CDI work, whether that be a new technique, tool, or tactic, a new contact, or simply a renewed sense of pride and purpose in your profession.
We sincerely hope to see you in Florida, May 20-23, and encourage you to register now before the early bird expires. And, don’t forget to come by the ACDIS booth or stop us in the hall to say hello. We’d love to see you in person, put a face to a name, and borrow some of your enthusiasm to take back with us to the office.
