Do you know ACDIS’ mission statement? It’s to serve as the premier healthcare community for clinical documentation specialists, providing a medium for education, professional growth, program recognition, and networking.

Everything we do—every article we write, every resource we create—gets filtered through this mission statement. And here’s the thing, the way we know what will serve you well, what will fuel your professional growth and help you mature your program, is simple: You tell us, and we listen.

All of us on the ACDIS team have regular contact with subsets of our membership through our boards, committees, and article sources, and many of our ideas come straight from these folks. We also always encourage members to reach out to us with ideas and questions as they arise.

While all of these feedback avenues are relatively informal, coming up naturally in conversation or through personal email exchanges, ACDIS offers a formal way to provide feedback once annually through the membership survey.

In the past, the survey results have led us to launch new outpatient resources, such as a Boot Camp, certification, and Pocket Guide. It’s led us to expand our pediatric training options to include a dedicated book and eLearning course. It’s led to the development of resources specifically for brand-new CDI specialists (the ACDIS CDI Apprenticeship) and for CDI leaders looking to connect with each other (the ACDIS Leadership Council).

The survey results also help us understand what parts of ACDIS membership you value most, what you’d like to see more of, and areas where we can improve—whether that means developing new materials or more clearly showing you what we already offer. The survey also includes questions for our CDI friends who aren’t ACDIS members so we can ensure we’re serving you well too.

We value your feedback and rest assured that we take your thoughts very seriously. ACDIS is your association and we want to make sure we’re serving you well, living up to our mission statement.
