A Note from the ACDIS Editor: Consider contributing to our publications
By: Katy Rushlau, ACDIS Editor
Community. That’s what I think of when I think of the collective ACDIS membership, comprised of CDI professionals and industry thought leaders who are anxious to share their ideas with others.
A few months ago, I put out a call for contributions to our “Meet a Member” (MAM) feature. The response was overwhelming. Almost immediately, my inbox was flooded with e-mails from dozens of MAM-volunteers wanting to share their CDI stories with our membership. It was both inspirational and exciting to see so many people willing to “donate” their experiences to help others learn and grow.
As many of you know, ACDIS has a number of publications that I, as the editor, have the opportunity to review, including the ACDIS blog, the now weekly e-newsletter, CDI Strategies, wand the bi-monthly CDI Journal.
These publications would not be possible without our contributors—individuals like yourself, willing to share success stories, challenges, or lessons learned. If you have a CDI story that you’d be willing to share, let me know. Maybe you implemented a new program to get physicians more engaged with CDI. Maybe your facility successfully expanded into outpatient or pediatric record reviews and you have some tips to share. Maybe you’ve noticed a documentation or coding trend that you’d like your fellow CDI professionals to be aware of.
Whatever the reason, if you have an idea that you think we could use in one of our publications, please e-mail me at krushlau@hcpro.com. Who knows—your story could end up helping another CDI professional or program.
