Note from the ACDIS Associate Director: Engage with our best conference yet
By Melissa Varnavas
We’re excited about the release of the ACDIS conference agenda every year, of course. And every year we feel as if we’ve outdone ourselves. As always, we feel we’ve outdone ourselves again this year. But don’t take our word for it: Take a look at the complete agenda and see for yourself.
The 13th annual ACDIS conference begins with our opening night reception on Tuesday, May 5, and continues with three days of education across six tracks through Friday, May 8, at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This year our theme is “Engage!” focusing on all the ways that CDI staff can engage with, and for, their profession. With nearly 2,000 peers, sponsors, speakers, and staff in attendance, every minute of this three-day event represents an opportunity to network, learn, and grow.
This year’s conference includes more than 60 educational sessions for a wide range of experience levels from basic to advanced. It also features innovative lightning rounds, panel discussions, and split sessions to increase the number of opportunities speakers and attendees have to share their individual experiences, on-the-ground challenges, and opportunities for growth.
“When you attend a conference like ACDIS or one of its pre-conference events, it’s a priceless learning opportunity,” ACDIS Director Brian Murphy said recently.
And it’s true. Whether you’re coming to the conference for the first time or you’ve been every year since the first event, attending is an immersive experience as you move from session to session and share your experiences with those around you.
So, I encourage you to take a look at the agenda. Print it out. Circle the sessions that excite you. Then come back to our website and dig a little deeper by reading through the expanded session descriptions. Share it with your colleagues. Engage with us and help us advance this important profession.
