News: Healthcare organizations unite to provide COVID-19 training
More than a dozen academic, public health, and healthcare partners formed a coalition with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to launch Project Firstline, a national training collaborative to help healthcare workers respond to COVID-19 infection control practices.
The American Hospital Association (AHA) plans to compliment CDC training module videos with leadership editorials, webinars, and case studies for healthcare providers’ use. The goal, the AHA says, is not just for training healthcare workers on what to do, but why. When individuals understand the rationale behind a set of actions they are more likely to comply, more likely to do the right thing every time, according to the AHA.
Training modules include hand hygiene as well as specifics for nursing homes and dialysis facilities.
