News: CMS offers a free webinar about the new Medicare ACO model on March 22

CMS is hosting a free webinar on March 22 at 2 p.m. to discuss the Medicare Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Track 1+ Model. The ACO Track 1+ model begins in 2018.

The model was announced in December 2016 and it qualifies as an advanced payment model under the Medicare Access and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Reauthorization Act. It does this by incorporating more downside risk than is present in Track 1 of the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), but less down risk than is present in the more advanced Tracks 2 and 3 of the MSSP, according to the American Hospital Association (AHA).
