Local chapter update: Join or start a topic-based CDI networking group

While ACDIS local chapters help CDI professionals network with peers in their region, we know that’s not the only way to make connections. The CDI world is vast and varied, so a topic that may apply to you may not mean much to your neighbor! That is why ACDIS networking groups are formed. For any who attended the ACDIS conference and enjoyed the discussion tables on Day 1, or others who’ve been looking for a community based on a specific topic, we invite you to join our CDI educators networking group or our pediatrics networking group!

Don’t see the topic you want to connect over? We are always looking to help volunteers provide more options to the CDI community! If you’re interested in starting a topic-based networking group, such as outpatient or VA, please email the ACDIS team at info@acdis.org.

June:

• The Virginia ACDIS chapter meets Friday, June 23, 2023, 12–1 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “The Matter of Mortalities: Educating Providers on “Why” Their Words Matter, Diagnosis Capture, Documentation Integrity, Risk Adjustment, and Mortality Measurement,” and will be presented by Lisa Fuller, BSN, RN, CCDS. • The Northwest ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “Capturing CC/MCCs: 202 CDI Updates for Clinical Indicators and Query Opportunity,” and will be presented by William E. Haik, MD, PCCP, CDIP. July:

• The Michigan ACDIS chapter meets Thursday, July 20, 2023, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., via webinar. The program is titled, “CDI Practice and Performance Improvement,” and will be presented by Jennie Suder, MM, BSN, RN, CCDS, and Christine McNamara, BSN, RN, CCDS. • The Tennessee ACDIS chapter meets Friday, July 28, 2023, 12–1 p.m., via webinar.
