Local chapter update: ACDIS recommendations for chapter meeting frequency

CDI Strategies - Volume 15, Issue 23

While ACDIS only requires chapters hold two meetings per year in order to be considered an “active” chapter, we recommend four meetings per year to keep chapter members engaged and connected throughout the year.

In normal times, ACDIS recommends holding virtual meetings in winter when travel can be complicated by unpredictable weather and in summer when scheduling can be challenging due to vacations. Spring and fall are popular times for larger, in-person meetings. The in-person spring/fall meetings allow chapters to host longer four- or six-hour events with multiple speakers, offering CEUs to encourage people to attend.

While most chapters are continuing to hold virtual meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hopefully by the fall most people will have been vaccinated and ready to network in-person again. Fall will be here before you know it, so now’s the time to start planning! Remember, you can always reach out to ACDIS National for advice or help as you plan, and be sure to keep ACDIS informed about upcoming meetings so we can post them to your webpage and work with your team to secure CEUs for your event.

As you plan, don’t forget the ACDIS National Conference takes place October 25-28 in Dallas, Texas, so we hope to see you there!
