Director’s Note: Congratulations to Cheryl Ericson; welcome Sharme Brodie

ACDIS is proud to announce the promotion of CDI Education Director Cheryl Ericson, MS, RN, CCDS, CDIP, to Associate Director, Education for ACDIS. We believe that this promotion reflects what we envision will be her greater involvement in developing the educational resources which have been a hallmark of ACDIS since its launch in October 2007.

Our Boot Camp instructors are an integral part of the ACDIS team, and Cheryl’s promotion will help us to ensure that ACDIS products and services are of the highest quality. Since April 2012, Ericson has updated classroom materials for HCPro’s CDI Boot Camp and ICD-10 for CDI Boot Camp to incorporate the sweeping changes in the healthcare industry and throughout her career has worked to advance the CDI profession, collaborating on the 2010 and 2013 CDI/query practice briefs.

We’d also like to welcome the latest addition to our CDI Boot Camp team of instructors, Sharme Brodie, RN, CCDS, of Dallas Ga. Sharme comes to ACDIS after working as a CDI consultant providing training and program review for various healthcare facilities. She also previously worked at Cartersville Medical Center and with WellStar Health System where she was responsible for ongoing physician education, and served as a resource to medical staff and coding teams. Additionally, her clinical experience includes children’s, postpartum and newborn, GI laboratory, and case management. We are proud to have her onboard and know that her varied experience will help us provide you with the specialized information you need to be successful in the CDI arena.
