ACDIS update: National office closed till May 5, new CDI Journal available
Due to the ACDIS national conference and the associated travel, the ACDIS offices will be closed until Monday, May 9. If you joined us in Orlando, we're so glad we got to spend time with you! We hope you found the event valuable, encouraging, and fun!
While the office is closed, we encourage you to review our newest edition of the CDI Journal, which is focused on diversity and inclusion in CDI. As many of you know, the CDI world is already a diverse one, bringing together multiple professional, racial, ethnic, cultural, gender, and religious backgrounds. This edition of the CDI Journal seeks to help us continue the work and make our little industry an inclusive one too.
In this edition’s pages, readers will learn about:
- Building an inclusive and welcoming work environment
- Compromised care for transgender patients
- Gender-inclusive EHRs
- Diverse professional backgrounds in CDI
- Appropriate responses to discrimination
- Removing barriers to diversity at the system level
- Men in nursing
- Expanding CDI opportunities for immigrants
Additionally, this edition includes a special supplement about the newest technological advances in partnership with 3M Health Information Systems, an interview with the 2022 Diversity in CDI ACDIS Achievement Award recipient, an article from our interim ACDIS director, and an article from our director of programming. Plus, you’ll find our usual Meet a Member interview at the end of the edition.
The ACDIS team hopes you enjoy this latest edition and find something helpful within its pages as you work to make CDI a more welcoming place. The July/August edition of the Journal will be focused on clinical and coding fundamentals. If you’d like to contribute an article or have a topic idea to share, please feel free to reach out.
Happy reading!
