ACDIS update: Get to know Advisory Board hopefuls before voting opens

After a thorough review from the ACDIS Advisory Board, the final candidates for the four open board spots have been chosen. While voting hasn’t opened up just yet (be on the lookout in the near future), ACDIS leadership wants to give members the opportunity to get to know the candidates in advance.

The chosen board members will serve for three years, from April 2018 to April 2021. There are two seats open for RN-credentialed candidates, one for an HIM/coding credentialed candidate, and one for an MD/physician credentialed candidate.

Nursing candidates:

• Karen Bridgeman, MSN, RN, CCDS, CDI educator at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston
• Susan Fantin, MSA, BSN, RN, CCDS, CDIP, corporate director of clinical documentation at McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, Michigan
• Deb Jones, RN, BSN. CCDS, director of clinical documentation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston
• Fran Jurcak, MSN, RN, CCDS, vice president of clinical innovation at Iodine Software in Austin, Texas
• Jeff Morris, RN, BSN, CCDS, supervisor of CDI at University of South Alabama Health System in Mobile
• Susanne Warford, MBS-HCM, RN, CCDS, system CDI analyst and appeals nurse at Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentucky

HIM/coding candidate:

• Irina Zusman, RHIA, CCS, CCDS, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer, director of HIM coding and CDI initiatives at NYU Langone Health in New York City

Physician candidates:

• Adriane Martin, DO, FACOS, CCDS, vice president of Enjoin in Eads, Tennessee
• Vaughn Matacale, MD, CCDS, director of the clinical documentation advisor program at Vidant Health in Greenville, North Carolina
• Erica Remer, MD, FACEP, CCDS, president and founder at Erica Remer, MD, Inc. in Beachwood, Ohio
