ACDIS update: ACDIS publishes worklist prioritization paper in partnership with 3M
As healthcare organizations move toward value-based care and seek to improve performance and overall financial health, CDI programs are under pressure to ensure documentation supports medical necessity and accurately captures each patient’s clinical picture.
As a result, some healthcare providers are redesigning CDI programs using new, workflows and technologies to prioritize worklists and focus on the cases with the greatest financial and quality affect, according to a new white paper published by ACDIS in partnership with 3M.
To dig into the changing landscape of CDI case prioritization, ACDIS and 3M conducted a survey of 263 hospital and health system CDI leaders and ACDIS members. According to the survey, even with the increasing need for CDI accuracy, 21% of respondents don’t prioritize their cases at all. Eighteen percent, however, already use a software-based worklist prioritization tool for CDI’s initial reviews.
Using the survey results, “Advancing CDI Worklist Prioritization: Hospitals Adopt New Strategies and Technologies” discusses tactics for CDI prioritization and the changing nature of CDI’s work and focus.
